Welcome to the Get Into Rugby Play series of small-sided contact games, designed to help beginners learn how to play Rugby.

The games are designed for teachers, coaches and players who have either completed the Try series of games and want to progress to contact Rugby, or who have previous experience of playing/teaching/coaching Rugby and feel they are ready for contact Rugby. Module 5 is an introduction to contact, with progression to full contact in Modules 6-8.

It is essential that all players, teachers and coaches are knowledgable about the safety measures for contact Rugby.

All coaches and teachers delivering the Get Into Rugby programme must complete both the free online Rugby Ready programme and also the Get Into Rugby training course run by a World Rugby-trained Course Leader.

To deliver the Play phase, World Rugby strongly recommend that all the personnel running activities have at least a World Rugby Coaching Level 1 certification or equivalent.
